During my third year of art school, I had the opportunity to study comic book illustration under Gene Colan. As part of that experience, he took the class on a field trip to Marvel Comics, where I successfully applied for an internship that later transitioned into a part-time position in the early 1990s. This period provided invaluable insight into the comic production process and allowed me to refine my inking and drawing techniques. To this day, I continue to find joy in allowing my ink pens and watercolors to create fantasy illustration. Although this style differs significantly from my gallery work, it frees me up to use my skills in experimental ways.
